HIDROPONIK
Hidroponik diambil dari kata hidro dan ponos. Hidro berarti air, dan ponos berarti kerja. Dengan kata lain, dapat diartikan bahwa hidroponik adalah budidaya dengan memanfaatkan air. Hidroponik tidak semata-mata dengan air saja tetapi juga dialiri pupuk.
Sejarah-sejarah hidroponik :
Sebelum masehi :
Babylonia : The Hanging Garden (Taman Gantung)
AZTEC : The Floating Garden
Tahun 1937 :
Terdapat tanaman tomat yang panjang batangnya lebih dari 25 kaki (7,5 meter adalah capaian yang hebat dan pada tahun 2004 menjadi 17 meter). Kemudian tanaman tersebut diangkat oleh W. F. Gericke.
Perang dunia II, 1942 :
Dibangun Green House pada kepulauan Jepang.
Tahun 1973 :
A.J. Cooper à Meralat teknik sebelumnya karena tidak 100% memakai air, tetapi memakai pasir.
Tahun 1980-an :
Cara Hidroponik masuk ke Indonesia.
